Exciting news from the people at IEEE...in 2007, IEEE will add historic digital content from over 60 IEEE titles to its online collection. This is part of IEEE's plan to digitize all papers from IEEE technology journals back to each title's first issue, in an effort to bring historic, scholarly content to new generations of researchers and practitioners. IEEE subscribers will have access to this tremendous repository of papers by visionaries of the electrical engineering profession. The IEEE legacy collection represents a critical evolutionary period that chronicles the development of today's information age.
The IEEE Xplore digital library currently contains more than 1.3 million documents. Included are papers from more than 126 IEEE journals, 900 active IEEE standards, and the proceedings of over 600 annual conferences. The majority of the content dates back to 1988; content from select publications back as far as 1950 was added in 2003.
